Background
CEM intends to implement a new technical standard in 2025, requiring all the technicians involved in CEM’s power supply business to complete the “Skills Certification Program” to ensure they possess the necessary knowledge and skills to provide safer and more reliable electricity supply services. Electrical technicians can complete the certification through one of the following modes and then submit application to CEM to become a “CEM Registered Electrical Technician”.

ii. | Certification Course for Electrical Technicians | Macau Labour Affairs Bureau and CEM | Assist electrical technicians to obtain certification through theoretical and practical trainings. Participants who pass both examinations will receive a certificate accredited by Macau Labour Affairs Bureau and CEM. | Possess a minimum of 3 years work experience related to electrical engineering works |
To date, 217 participants have completed the “Technical Skills Assessment for Electrical Technicians” or “Certification Course for Electrical Technicians”. Meanwhile, the existing scheme for registering as a “CEM Registered Electrical Technicians” will also be optimized in line with the new standard.
CEM is going to organize the “Technical Skills Assessment for Electrical Technicians” again from 27 June to 24 July 2024. Industry professionals are welcome to join the skills assessment, please refer to the details below.
