In response to the Macau SAR Government’s initiative to revitalize the historical districts, encouraging gaming concessionaires to deepen the cross-sector integrated development of “Tourism+” and revitalize six areas, CEM is fully prepared to assist in the implementation of the projects to improve the business environment in the areas, and inject economic vitality into the community.

The six areas include the new pedestrian area at Rua da Felicidade, Piers 23 and 25 at the Inner Harbour, the area around Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro and Rua 5 de Outubro, Barra area around the D. Carlos I Dock, the Iec Long Firecracker Factory area in Taipa and the old shipyard of Lai Chi Vun. These districts all have profound cultural heritage and historical significance, and the storefronts have unique characteristics.

Upgrading the power grid and protecting the urban landscape

CEM has been actively conducting in-depth research and discussions with relevant government departments and gaming concessionaires on the electricity demand, power supply plannings, and installation requirements for electrical installations on building facades in each area. This is to ensure the historical landscape is protected while planning upgrades to the power grid. CEM will plan the power grid in accordance with the latest electrical design standards and technical specifications, incorporating forward-looking designs to support the revitalization of the districts.

To improve the configuration of the transmission and distribution network and minimize the impact on citizens’ daily transportation, CEM has been following the Government’s inter-departmental coordination mechanism for roadwork projects to carry out various projects in an orderly manner, so as to avoid repeated road excavations and strictly control the duration and scope of roadworks.
