CEM takes the lead to obtain ISO 20000 Information Technology Service Management System Certification
Macao, 7 January 2013
Following the certification of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO14064, CEM recently obtained the ISO 20000 Information Technology Service Management System Certification. CEM is honored to be the first electricity company in Macao and Hong Kong to obtain this certification.
Currently in Macao there are only two companies certified with this standard. The ISO 20000 Information Technology Service Management System Certification provides an IT management framework that allows CEM to systematically manage its IT environment, including application, infrastructure and helpdesk service based on the international best practice and standard. The framework is based on the ISO “Plan, Do, Check, Act” methodology to ensure that CEM’s IT environment adapts a continuous improvement model in terms of process efficiency, quality, integrity and security.
CEM Information Systems Department Senior Manager Denis Chan said, “Nowadays, a reliable yet innovative IT strategy is a key enabler to support the current operation and future growth of the company. We are pleased that CEM achieved this certification to further enhance the company’s IT management system. All the necessary works for applying the certification were done internally without having any external consultancy support.” CEM has implemented an Integrated Management System with all three Management System Certifications ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 since 2001. In 2010, CEM took one more step to obtain the ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gases (GHG) Management System Certification to impose systematic and genuine actions against GHG emissions. By achieving this latest certification, CEM demonstrates once again its efforts to strive for delivering the best service quality for the Macao community.
