CEM carries out high-voltage cable renovation works at Estrada do Istmo roundabout section
3 May 2013, Macao
To cooperate with the Infrastructure Development Office for its tunnel project of COTAI Strip, CEM has already started the underground high-voltage cable trough (66kV) project earlier along with the related communication/protection cables. The construction site is located at the section of Estrada do Istmo near The City of Dreams. As the project will spread to the roundabout section, CEM needs to connect the cable trough at the location.
In order to minimize the impact on the traffic in the area, CEM will implement restricted traffic at the roundabout after the consultation with the Transport Bureau. The project will start on 6 May, and is expected to be completed within 15 days. To shorten the time of the construction work that affects the traffic, CEM will carry out the laying of the natural gas and signal duct networks together with other companies at the same time during the construction. During the construction period, CEM would like to remind the drivers to be cautious about the road conditions and follow the temporary traffic signs and indicators. The Company would appreciate the public’s understanding for the inconveniences caused.
CEM has always worked closely and held regular meetings to coordinate the excavation works with the relevant government departments and other public utilities, ensuring that the excavation works are not carried out repeatedly within a short span of time. In addition, CEM strives to minimize the impact caused by the duration and scope of road works on citizens.
