CEM donates MOP100,000 to support Walk for a Million

The “Walk for a Million” will be held on December 8 2013. As always, in addition to organizing staff to join the event, CEM will donate MOP 100,000 to the Macau Daily News Readers’ Charity Fund to help underprivileged this year. At 3:30pm on November 13, Macau Daily News Readers’ Charity Fund Vice Presidents Ho Teng Iat, Hoi Kin Cheong, Vong Mou Cheng, Directors Garrick Jorge Wong and Wong Pan Seng paid a visit to CEM and they were warmly received by CEM Chief Executive Officer Franklin Willemyns, Executive Directors João Travassos, Bernie Leong, Jorge Vieira, Advisor to CEM Executive Committee Iun Iok Meng and Communications and Public Affairs Office Senior Manager Cecilia Nip.

Franklin Willemyns said that CEM will continue to organize a team to participate in the “Walk for a Million” this year, and so far, the enrollment has reached about 200 staff members. The annual event of “Walk for a Million” has become the largest and most iconic public welfare activity in Macao. As a local utility company, CEM has the responsibility to participate in and support this meaningful charitable activity.

Ho Teng Iat expressed her gratitude to CEM for its support in manpower and donation. Ho also said that, by organizing staff to participate in the “Walk for a Million”, the company can offer assistance to the needy while also strengthen communication, boost up team spirit and raise the staff morale.
