CEM celebrates 20,000 citizens joined Energizing Tour
Macau, 16 December, 2013
CEM celebrated on 14 December, 20,000 citizens visited Coloane Power Station. CEM Energizing Tour was first launched in 2009 aiming at allowing the public to know more about CEM operations, giving them a chance to see the power generation close up. Since then, the Tour has been a tremendous success, having conducted more than 100 tours just this year, and received over 4,300 visitors from schools, local associations, companies and groups from abroad.
Throughout 2013, organized groups were able to participate in weekday tours, while public tours were also organized from June to December in the first and third Saturdays of each month. Tours included a visit to CEM Exhibition Room featuring a display of electrical appliances with more than 50 years, old equipment from CEM operational departments, information about the Company’s milestones and generation process; also a site visit to major generation infrastructures and control rooms. Besides having a memorable time, all visitors received a trendy CEM umbrella as souvenir and were entitled to win a MOP3,888 electrical appliances cash coupon by filling in a questionnaire to provide comments about the Tour’s arrangements, giving CEM insights for improvement. Also throughout the year, visitors were invited to visit Energizing Tour Facebook fan page at http://www.facebook.com/Energizing.Tour, and upload their photos onto the page and the three photos with the most number of LIKES in the year-end will receive supermarket gift-coupons. Also at the end of 2013, from all LIKES received to the fan page, CEM will draw three winners to receive a supermarket cash coupon. All results will be announced in January 2014.
On 14 December, CEM received the visit of nearly 30 students from the University of Macau. Coinciding with the celebration of CEM reaching 20,000 citizens joined the Tour, CEM prepared a different arrangement for the special day. Upon arrival, while getting out of the bus, the 25th visitor Yang Ya Wei was the lucky 20,000th visitor of the Energizing Tour. He was awarded with a special souvenir pack. CEM Mascot “Power Boy” was also present to take photos with the visitors. All visitors received an attractive souvenir. Chiang Sao Meng, Director of Jornal Va Kio, Iun Iok Meng, Advisor to CEM Executive Committee, Ip Kam Veng, CEM Generation Department Senior Manager, and Cecilia Nip, CEM Communications and Public Affairs Office Senior Manager came to greet the group and commemorate this achievement of CEM. With the continuous overwhelmed response from the public, CEM will certainly continue to hold the Energizing Tour in 2014.
