The first preparatory meeting of the 19th Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macau Power Industry Services Seminar held in Macau

To actively promote the development of power companies in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau and to maintain the close collaboration among the three regions, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM), Guangdong Power Grid Corporation (GPG) and CLP Holdings Limited (CLP) take turns to host the Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macau Power Industry Services Seminar each year. The seminar serves as an experience exchange platform for the power companies in the three regions. This year the seminar reaches its nineteenth session and is scheduled to be held in Foshan in November, organizers recently attended the first preparatory meeting at the Macau Plaza Restaurant. GPG will preside over the seminar. With the theme of “Big Data and Micro Service”, it allows the industry to explore in depth on how to apply data management in providing more comprehensive and sound services, as well as share past experience and ideas amid challenges in order to improve the service quality of power industries in the three regions. Attendees of the preparatory meeting included GPG Marketing Department Deputy Director Wang Guorui, Customer Service Executive Mo Jieping and Customer Relationship Executive Xie Hui; Foshan Power Supply Bureau Deputy Director Zou Guilin, Marketing Department Deputy Director Tan Yuekai and Executive Chen Wenhao, Customer Service Executive Wang Daweil; CLP Marketing & Customer Services Acting Business Strategy & South China Retail Development Manager Gary Chiang, Strategic Planner Priscilla Chang and Strategy and Planning Support Officer Cathy Cheung; Advisor to CEM Executive Committee, Iun Iok Meng, Communications and Public Affairs Office Manager Jaclyn Iun and Officer Trista Cheong. Before the preparatory meeting, CEM received seven delegates from Foshan Power Supply Bureau and showed them around the CEM Building, introducing CEM’s services and measures regarding metering, customer services, outage management, energy efficiency promotion and more. The visit reinforced the bonding between the two places, not only the development of the two power companies, but also established a better cooperation relationship.

Iun Iok Meng said that nowadays in the era filled with unlimited data, CEM, as a public utility company, owns the data of all business units and households in Macau, how to effectively utilize and analyze this massive database to provide more attentive and personalized services to the customers is very important. Through this seminar, CEM hoped that Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau together will be able to collect each other’s wisdom to explore the analysis and processing of information with the most updated technology in order to push customer service to another level.
