Macao Post and CEM Hold Signing and Launching Ceremony for Cooperation of “SEPBox” e-Bill Distribution

In a bid to let Macau citizens receive electricity bills through an eco-friendly and secure channel, Macao Post and Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) jointly launched SEPBox e-bill distribution service and held the signing and launching ceremony for cooperation at CEM Building at 4 p.m. today.
Derby Lau, Postmaster General of Macao Post and Bernie Leong, Chairman of CEM Executive Committee, signed the agreement at the Ceremony with the witness by Ao Ieong U, Director of Identification Bureau; Chan Wan Hei, Member of Administrative Committee of Science and Technology Development Fund; Chan Kai Man, Head of Information Technology Department of Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau; João Baptista Siu, Chief of the Department of General Assistance of Cultural Industries Fund; Lei Veng Hong, Head of Organization and Information Technology Division of Transport Bureau; Chang Tou Keong, Head of Administrative and Financial Division of Financial Services Bureau; Vong Kok Seng and Lei Chi Fong, President and Vice President of CEM Customer Liaison Committee (CLC); Shi Yulin, CEM Executive Director; João Travassos da Costa, Principal Advisor to CEM Executive Committee. Other guests include Lei Veng Hong, Head of Organization and Information Technology Division of Transport Bureau; Chang Tou Keong, Head of Administrative and Financial Division of Financial Services Bureau; Oscar W.M. Chu, Deputy General Manager of The Macao Water Supply Company Limited and CEM CLC Members including Ada Chan, Fong Kin Fu, Simon Wong, Raymond Wong, Tang Kuok Meng, Andy Tam as well as Iun Iok Meng, Advisor to CEM Executive Committee. Derby Lau revealed in her speech that nowadays the development in information technology is ever-changing. With SEPBox, companies are able to send information and notifications to their clients more rapidly and reliably in an eco-friendly way, users can also receive information timely on a safe platform. Derby also thanked CEM for its support and cooperation with Macao Post. Through close collaboration, the integration of CEM’s e-bill service with Macao Post’s e-delivery system has been completed. The public can receive CEM e-bill after SEPBox registration.
Bernie Leong said that to increase public awareness on energy saving and environmental protection, CEM always actively promotes the messages through various promotional activities, including Energy Saving Contest, Energizing Tour and e-bill, etc. Companies send out hundreds of thousands paper bills every month on average, which is not only a waste of money and paper, but also a heavy burden to the environment. Through the cooperation with Macao Post, CEM hopes that more Macau citizens will choose to use SEPBox to receive their electricity bills and jointly promote a green Macau by reducing paper waste. Bernie Leong concluded his speech by expressing gratitude to Macao Post for providing the cooperation opportunity and working together with CEM in promoting environmental protection as well as making contributions in building a quality green living in Macau.
During the ceremony, Gregory Sun, General Manager of Macao Post Secure Electronic Postal Services, introduced “Electronic Delivery Platform”. After registration and activation of SEPBox, users will be able to receive electronic deliveries from the supporting organizations of this safe and reliable delivery platform. In addition, Joyce Lao, Officer of CEM Customer Services Department Customer Contact Management, explained “How to Receive Electricity e-bill with SEPBox”, let the guests be familiarized with the procedures for applying electricity e-bill in SEPBox on both computer and mobile phone. The steps are very simple by just clicking a few buttons.
The application steps for receiving electricity e-bill through SEPBox are very simple. First, customers need to apply SEPBox at Macao Post, and then login through http://sepbox.macaupost.gov.mo or the mobile app, select “CEM” in “eBill & Notice” section, agree the Authorization and input Contract Number, click “Apply” to complete. Customers should take note that the applicants of electricity e-bill must be the contract holder. Moreover, SEPBox can be used on both computer and by downloading the mobile App, which allows customers to check their electricity bills anywhere anytime.
