The first preparatory meeting of the 21st Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Power Industry Services Seminar

In a bid to maintain close cooperation and communication among power companies in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM), Guangdong Power Grid Co., Ltd (GPG) and CLP Holdings Limited (CLP) take turns each year to hold the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Power Industry Services Seminar, with an aim to exchange valuable experience as well as the application of advanced technologies to promote the development of the power industry in the three regions. This year, which marks the Seminar’s 21st anniversary, the event will be held in Dongguan, Guangdong Province in November. Representatives from the three companies attended the first preparatory meeting at Zhuhai Power Supply Bureau today.
Representatives attended the meeting including Wang Guorui, GPG Marketing Department Deputy Director and Mao Liping, Customer Service Section Marketing Department Section Chief; Yangcheng, Marketing Director of Dongguan Power Supply Bureau, Luohua, Marketing Director Assistant, Du Wenjuan and Zhang Huishi, Customer Service Division Supervisor and Sales Executive; Kenneth Lam, CLP Acting Business strategy and South China Retail Development Manager, Johnny Kam, Strategic Planner, and Lau Pak Sum, Assistant Engineer; Iun Iok Meng, Advisor of CEM Executive Committee, Jaclyn Iun, Communications and Public Affairs Office Manager, Trista Cheong and Youlander Zhang, Officer. An in-depth discussion on the arrangement and details of the Seminar had been gone through in order to perfect the whole process and allow each delegate achieve fruitful results.
The Seminar will be hosted by GPG, with the theme of “New Technologies New Services”. To meet customers’ diverse electricity demand and to provide a more stable and quality electricity supply, over the years the power industry has studied and implemented various applications of new technologies to deliver innovative and convenient services in the hope of further improving the reliability of power supply and uplifting the customer service level.
Iun Iok Meng said at the meeting that the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Power Industry Services Seminar is a significant annual event for the power industry, it serves as a communication platform for the power industry in the three regions and plays an important role in boosting their development. Over the past 20 years, CEM has learnt from the Seminar various new technologies, and its peers’ speeches at the seminar have played an integral role to the sustainable development of Macau. Given that geographical locations and urban development planning and objectives are different in the three regions, CEM has also inspired its peers to have innovative thinking. The Seminar has achieved an all-win situation. It is expecting that this year’s Seminar will build on the success to continue advancing the power industry, so as to help establish more eco-friendly and liveable cities in the three regions.
