The 6th “Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Power Industry Summit” to be held in Nanning this May

China Southern Power Grid Corporation Limited (CSG), CLP Holdings Company Limited (CLP), China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGNPC) and Companhia de Electricidade de Macau – CEM. S.A. (CEM) take turns to hold the annual “Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Power Industry Summit”. The Summit was initiated by CSG in 2011, which marks its 6th edition this year. The Summit has been committed to promoting mutual cooperation of power companies in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau in order to establish a platform for the power industry to enhance communication, thus promoting the joint development of power companies in the three regions.
This year’s summit will be hosted by CSG, and the second preparatory meeting was held recently in Nanning, Guangxi. The participants include: Wang Lin, CSG Deputy Director of International Cooperation Dept., Guo Yunwen, Division of International Liaison International Dept.; Grace Qu, Manager of CLP Management Service Limited, China/Guangzhou Representative Office, Helen Duan, Senior Associate South China Strategy & Development of CLP Holdings Limited; Huang Qiang, Director, Public Relations Senior Engineer of CGN General Office; Youlander Zhang, CEM Communications and Public Affairs Office Officer.
In the meeting, it was decided that the 6th Summit will be held in Nanning, Guangxi from 11 to 13 May, with the theme of “Strengthening Cooperation to Achieve Mutual Benefits and Win-Win Situations”. On the occasion, the top management of the four companies will attend, and they will invite experts and guests to probe into the current hot topics, including “the 13th Five Year Plan” and “the Belt & Road Initiative”. To tie in with China’s 13th Five-Year Plan and leverage Macau’s unique positioning as well as with “One Center One Platform” as a base, Macau will be able to promote economic diversification and sustainable development. It will also support Macau to participate in China’s two-way opening up and the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. These measures will not only pave the way for Macau’s integration into national development, but also lay a foundation for Macau to map out its future development plan.
In addition, representatives of the four companies also paid a visit to “CLP Guangxi Fangchenggang Power Station” and “Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Co., Ltd”.
