CEM and AEM co-hosted workshop to introduce development of transmission and distribution power network

In a bid to work closely and enhance communications with the engineering industry, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) and the Macau Institution of Engineers (AEM) recently co-hosted a workshop at the AEM office. The objectives of the workshop wereto introduce the development trend in local transmission and distribution power network, and answer relevant queries from the industry.

During the workshop, both parties exchanged their opinions on the development of the transmission and distribution power network as well as electrical engineering of Macau. CEM Transmission and Distribution Department Senior Manager Billy Chan introduced to the participants the current overall condition and future planning and development of the transmission and distribution power network in Macau. Manager Angelo Tavares explained the key areas of electrical system design and analysis of buildings, and Senior Engineer Valdemar Lopes presented the electric vehicle charging system as well as the grid connection technical guidelines of Photovoltaic System. The workshop addressed a wide range of topics, from high-rise buildings to large-scale estates, old areas, renewable energy facilities, etc. Participants can have a better understanding of the design and development of local power supply infrastructure, and be familiar with the electricity supply application and arrangement to make the process speedier and smoother.

Billy Chan expressed his gratitude towards AEM for jointly organizing this workshop. CEM has proactively been fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, and attaching great importance to the communications with the industry. This workshop has achieved positive results. Throughout the workshop, CEM can let the engineering industry have a better understanding of the operation and development of CEM, directly address the participants’ queries and know better the needs of the industry. CEM will conclude and follow up the needs and suggestions proposed by the industry.

AEM Vice Council President Addy Chan also expressed his appreciation to CEM for the arrangement and support of the workshop. He opined that the workshop provided engineering industry an opportunity to communicate with representatives from CEM. AEM will continuously co-host relevant workshops and seminars with CEM in the near future, in a bid to continuously strengthen the exchange of information and experience between members in the electrical engineering industry.
