CEM participates in the 21st Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau Power Industry Services Seminar to discuss the technology development on electricity services

(CEM) has been committed to providing reliable power supply and quality services for Macau citizens and extensively drawing on technical experience to improve service level through the cooperation and exchanges with neighboring regions. The annual “Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau Power Industry Services Seminar” is an important platform aiming to enhance regional cooperation and promote the development and collaboration of power companies in the three places. The Seminar is hosted by Guangdong Power Grid Co., Ltd. (GPG), CLP Holdings Limited (CLP) and CEM by turns on an annual basis. In its 21st edition this year, the Seminar was hosted by GPG in Dongguan with the theme of “New Technologies New Services”. Over 100 delegates from power companies in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau attended the Seminar, including Yang Xiaotang, Deputy Mayor of Dongguan Municipal Government; Zhang Wenfeng, GPG General Manager, Chen Ye, Vice General Manager, and Chen Rui, Deputy Chief Economist; Paul Poon, Managing Director of CLP, and Eric Cheung, Senior Director - Marketing & Customer Services; Bernie Leong, Chairman of CEM Executive Committee, and Iun Iok Meng, Advisor to CEM Executive Committee, among others.

Bernie Leong said that the rapid advancement of science and technology has driven the development of different industries, allowing the quality of service to be constantly improving. The Five-Year Development Plan (2016 – 2020) of Macau SAR mentioned that the vision and goal of Macau is to accelerate the construction of smart city. Smart city is a development trend in the future, and industries need to develop innovative technologies to tie in with the trend, including promoting the application of information technology, stepping up efforts in infrastructure construction and exploring various technology resources. Energy and electricity are among the most important aspects. Themed on “New Technologies New Services”, this year’s Seminar is in line with the trend of building a smart city and will allow participants to have in-depth discussions about the important role played by new technologies in the development of power services.

At the Seminar, Freddie Tang, CEM Customer Consultant of Customer Services Department Technical Service Management, explained “The Power Supply Quality of CEM Large Customers”, elaborated the power supply configuration for large customers and the measures taken by CEM with respect to the quality of power supply. Kelvin Fok, Senior Engineer of CEM Power and Networks Dispatch Department Communications & Automation System Dispatch Engineering, delivered a presentation titled “Outage Management System in Macau”. He introduced CEM’s outage management system from aspects of design, implementation, application and efficiency, as well as its integration with other systems, in a bid to enhance the efficiency of emergency maintenance and service quality. The keynote speakers and thesis topics of GPG and CLP include: “Distributed Energy Resource and Power Grid” by Du Wenjuan, Supervisor of Marketing Department Customer Service Centre of Dongguan Power Supply Bureau of GPG; “Power Company Business Lobby Under An Internet+ Environment – Centralized Control Business Lobby” by Huang Qianyun, Supervisor of Marketing Department of Zhuhai Power Supply Bureau; “The Application of Internet Technologies in Improving Emergency Repairing Service” by Ye Zhifeng, Supervisor of Customer Service Center of Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau; “The Application and Promotion of Remote Channel Services” by Li Huizhen, Chief of Sales & Marketing Department Customer Relations of Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau; “Eco Power 360 & Eco Rewards” by Joe Lo, Acting Sustainability & Technical Support Manager of CLP; and “Green Studio – The Amazing 4D Green Adventures” by Jaclyn Yuen, Marketing Communications Manager.
