CEM continues to subsidize Tariff Group A Customers, TCA rises 1 cent compared to last quarter
17 July 2015, Macau
According to the calculation under the concession contract, the 3rd quarter Tariff Clause Adjustment (TCA) will be 43 cents per kWh, 1 cent higher than the previous quarter.
However. to fulfill its corporate social responsibility, CEM decided to continue to offer TCA discount for Tariff Group A customers (residential customers and small & medium enterprises supplied with low voltage, covering over 99% of the total customer base). The contractual calculated value of 43 cents per kWh will be lowered to 36 cents, meaning a reduction of 7 cents per kWh. On the other hand, TCA for Tariff Group B, C and D customers will follow the contractual calculated value of 43 cents per kWh, up 1 cent compared to last quarter.
Since 2008, CEM has been offering TCA discounts to customers in a bid to stabilize the electricity tariff. In 2014 the total subsidy amount reached MOP 142 million. This genuinely proves CEM’s efforts to provide excellent power services for Macau citizens and its commitment to support Macau’s economic development.
