Medium-voltage cable damaged by third-party construction company, causing power supply interruption in Taipa districts
At 5:50 pm on September 19 (Tuesday), due to two sets of underground medium-voltage cables were damaged by the excavation work of a third-party construction company, power supply of about 230 buildings, over 1,200 households in Taipa Old District, Jockey Club District and Central District were interrupted. CEM immediately carried out repair and restored the power supply for most of the customers at 6:34 pm. Power supply was fully restored at 8:50pm. Since the cable was damaged by the third-party construction, CEM will look into the relevant liability.
