To support the promotion of green commute and the application of electric vehicles (EVs) by the Macau SAR Government, and help build a smart and green city, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) will gradually install charging stations of two charging standards, which are national standard and European standard, in 16 public car parks in Macau. The introduction of new charging standards allows citizens to have more choices when purchasing EVs.

CEM has been actively promoting the use of EVs and expanding the charging network. EV charging spaces have been set up in 46 public car parks in Macau, Taipa and Coloane, supporting different charging speeds and standards, including IEC Type 2, CHAdeMO, BS, CCS2 and national standard.

The 16 car parks with charging stations of two new charging standards include Auto-Silo da Rua do Almirante Sérgio, Auto-Silo do Leal Senado (Pak Lane), Auto-Silo da Rua de João Lecaros, Auto-Silo do Mercado de S. Lourenço, Auto-Silo do Complexo Municipal do Mercado do Patane, Auto-Silo do Jardim de Vasco da Gama, Auto-Silo da Rua da Bacia Sul, Auto-Silo do Edifício Cheng Tou, Auto-Silo do Lido, Auto-Silo do Edifício Mong In, Auto-Silo do Edifício da Direcção dos Serviços para os Assuntos de Tráfego, Auto-Silo do Edifício Mong Sin, Auto-Silo do Edifício Fai Fu, Auto-Silo do Edifício Fai Ieng, Auto-Silo da Rua da Ponte Negra, and Auto-Silo do Parque Central da Taipa. Among them, the charging stations at Auto-Silo do Parque Central da Taipa, Auto-Silo do Edifício Mong In and Auto-Silo do Edifício Fai Fu have been available for use since 3 May, and the remaining charging facilities will be put into service gradually in the second quarter.

In addition to actively cooperating with the Macau SAR Government's plan for the development of EV charging facilities, CEM has also continuously enhanced the software functions. The new "CEM APP" has been launched earlier. Car owners do not need to log in every time, just scan the QR code on the charging station to charge, and the charging status can also be viewed in real time, providing car owners with a more convenient charging experience. CEM will continuously optimize the charging equipment and its distribution according to the usage conditions, provide endless power for citizens' green commute, and jointly build a smart and low-carbon Macau.

Furthermore, the Macau SAR Government has set up and opened the charging spaces for electric motorcycles in 10 public car parks, including the Auto-Silo do Edifício da Direcção dos Serviços para os Assuntos de Tráfego, Auto-Silo do Edifício Lok Kuan, Auto-Silo do Complexo Desportivo das Portas do Cerco, Auto-Silo Jardim Comendador Ho Yin, Auto-Silo do Edifício Fai Fu, Auto-Silo do Edifício do Bairro da Ilha Verde, Auto-Silo do Edifício Mong Sin, Auto-Silo do Edifício Mong In, Auto-Silo Praça Ferreira do Amaral, and Auto-Silo do Parque Central da Taipa.
