To enhance the skills and competencies of local electrical technicians and meet the needs of training talents for the power industry, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) once again held the "Technical Skills Assessment for Electrical Technicians" for the electrical technicians in Macau, and the certificate presentation ceremony was held on 1 September at the CEM Building. Among the 90 candidates who participated in this assessment, 73 successfully passed the assessment.

The participating technicians first took up basic training in CEM's 8,000-square-foot training centre, and then underwent assessments in the aspects of “knowledge” and “skills”. The content and standards of this program are based on CEM's internal technical specifications, covering conventional modules such as basic knowledge of electricity, power safety and low-voltage equipment installation, as well as renewable energy application, power system automation, asset management and underground facility management, etc. Technicians who successfully passed the assessment are recognized as achieving a qualified ability level in related electrical fields.

CEM has been rooted in Macau for half a century. As a representative of the local power industry with extensive knowledge and experience, CEM held the "Technical Skills Assessment for Electrical Technicians" for the first time in March last year, with the aim of allowing technicians to improve their technical capabilities through training, meet the quality requirements and safety standards required for the work, establish their skill status, and enhance professional recognition. At the same time, the program aims to cultivate a new generation of talents, enabling the sustainable development of the relevant professional skills. CEM will collect and analyze the data obtained in the assessment, and continuously optimize the training course system and standards.
