22 September 2023, Macau
To encourage citizens to embrace a green lifestyle, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) will host Macau's first-ever eco market themed on EV trunks – “EV Trunk Eco Market x Mundane Cosplay Contest”, at the Heart-shaped Tree Square of Macau Science Center from 12noon to 7pm this Saturday. The event is co-organized by Nan Kwong International Conference Exhibition Co., Ltd., and supported by Macau Science Center. A wide variety of activities will be on offer, participating citizens with the chance of winning fabulous prizes.
The products of the shops participating in the “EV Trunk Eco Market” are very diverse and life-oriented, including AS Simple Life, Enough Reusable Product, Ho Sio Chong, JamJam, Modesta Macao, Next Kitchen, The Glory Macao, Uniplant853, VengLei.Lab, and Lasteen Coffee. Visitors can get close and up front with various electric vehicle models, including those from GAC, Tesla, Hyundai, NIO, Lexus, Lynk & Co, MAXUS, ORA, and QIANTU, among others.
Several free greenworkshops will be held by Oxfam in Macau and the volunteer team of Pui Ching Middle School. Citizens can register on-site to join the workshops to learn how to make handmade papers and natural body scrubs with coffee grounds. Recycling bins will be set up at the venue to educate and encourage citizens to incorporate environmental concepts into their daily life. Besides, the Fuhong Society of Macau will hold a charity sale. To carry forward the significance of this event and raise public awareness, on the day of the event, CEM calls on citizens to join the lucky draw by uploading related photos to the comment section of the Eco Market post on CEM Facebook page, with prizes including three Bluetooth speakers as an encouragement for them to embrace a green lifestyle.
The "Mundane Cosplay Contest" is the highlight of the day. After its successful debut last year, CEM decided to host the contest again. The “Mundane Halloween” has been gaining popularity in Japan in recent years, in which participants have to dress as ordinary people in life to bring fun and laughter. At the contest, dozens of contestants will be there to show off their creative costumes to compete for the awards. Prizes include an Apple Watch, muscle massage gun, and limited-edition Era Car CEM van. Citizens can vote for "My Favorite Mundane Cosplayer" on the site between 4pm and 5:15pm. Each voter will receive a souvenir.
