CEM organizes Street Dance Competition for the first time to encourage teenagers to showcase themselves

To reflect the spirit of CEM’s corporate slogan "Powering Forward", CEM organized the CEM “Let’s Get Energized” Street Dance Competition for the first time at Teatro Clementina Leitao Ho Brito in the afternoon on 15 October 2023. More than 180 participants enrolled under different categories of the competition. Renowned street dance dancers including Tou Tou, Volans and Oscar from Macau, as well as Lil Yin from Hong Kong, were invited as judges. Winners for each category were selected after rounds of fierce battles and the prizes were awarded after the competition.
There were two categories in the competition, namely “1 on 1 Individual Battle” and “Group Dance”. Contestants under the two categories were further divided into two groups according to their ages: students aged 15 or below and open category aged above 15. Talented contestants showcased their skillsdelivering energetic rhythms and personalized dance moves that perfectly complement the music. Admission was free to the public on the day of the event. Participants’ friends and family came and cheered, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere.
The award ceremony was officiated by Cecilia Nip and Jaclyn Iun, CEM Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Communications Office Director and Senior Manager, as well as the four judges. In her speech, Cecilia Nip mentioned that CEM’s corporate slogan is "Powering Forward". Power supply concerns every aspect of daily lives. Participants rely on electricity having air-conditioning, music and lighting during dancing. Cecilia Nip highlighted CEM’s commitment in providing stable power supply to Macau and bringing the public a comfortable and enjoyable life. For the first time, CEM organized the Street Dance Competition with a view to encouraging the public to engage in their favorite sports and put in time for training after school or work. The competition aims to inspire young people to showcase their talent in a positive and energetic way, promoting physical fitness, cultivating teamwork, and fostering interpersonal skills through competitive exchanges. Cecilia Nip thanked all participants for their dedications and effort in practicing and preparing for the competition.
The competitions were highly intense, and the judges rigorously scored the participants. The judges also shared their valuable advices with the contestants, making it a meaningful learning experience for them. The winners of CEM “Let’s Get Energized” Street Dance Competition are listed as follows:
