Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) has been actively cooperating with Macau SAR Government’s green commute policy and the smart green city development initiative. It is committed to improving the electric vehicle (EV) charging network and promoting related information to the public. Therefore, CEM once again participates in the 13^th China (Macau) International Automobile Exposition.

With the theme of “Driving the Smart Future”, CEM’s booth showcases two existing slow and quick EV charging piles. EV charging will be demonstrated in the booth. In addition, interactive elements have been added to the booth, where parents can use magnets and other props to experience the four steps of EV charging on the exhibition boards with their children. The four EV charging steps include downloading CEM APP, scanning the QR code on the charging pile, connecting a charging plug, and selecting “Start Charging”. CEM hopes to let the public understand that the entire charging process is very simple and easy to operate, so that citizens would consider purchasing an EV when replacing their vehicles in the future, while children can also learn how to charge an EV.

Currently, CEM has installed EV charging stations in 60 car parks, offering over 2,000 charging infrastructures supporting various charging speeds and standards, with coverage accounting for 97% of the public car parks. Besides, a total of 590 charging spaces for electric motorcycles are accessible to the public in 49 public car parks. In addition, CEM APP is constantly optimized and updated, allowing car owners to instantly search for available charging piles and make instant payments through the e-wallet recharge function, achieving a convenient charging experience.

2023 China (Macau) International Automobile Exposition will be held from 11am to 8pm on 10 – 12 November (Friday to Sunday) at Cotai Expo Hall A, B and C in Venetian Macao. Citizens can visit CEM booth no. D011 to learn more about EV charging, for those who enquire and participate in charging demonstrations will receive a souvenir.
