CEM Electric Cooking Class Actively Promotes the Concept of Sustainable Living
Macau, 19 December 2023
In order to promote electric cooking, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau – CEM, S.A. (CEM) has been organizing electric cooking classes and baking classes since 2017, inviting citizens to sign up for free. This year, four different types of cooking classes were launched, namely “Chubby Cat Chiffon Cake” Electric Baking Class for Families, “Fusion Kitchen” Electric Cooking Class, “Make Your Own Pizza” Electric Cooking Class for Families and “Holiday Reunion” Electric Cooking Class for Families. Nearly 1,400 CEM Facebook fans signed up throughout the year, and through random computer drawings, 336 citizens were selected to join CEM’s cooking and baking classes to learn and experience electric cooking.
Recently, two electric cooking classes for families with the theme of “Festive Reunion” came to an end. Under the guidance of professional chefs, participating families used a series of kitchen appliances to make xiaolongbao and eight treasure rice, symbolizing reunion, adding a strong festive atmosphere to the upcoming Winter Solstice and Christmas.
In addition to learning cooking techniques and various delicacies, participants also had the opportunity to use electrical appliances such as electric ovens, induction cookers, and electric steamers, etc. Instructors shared the cooking techniques of ingredients based on the characteristics of electrical appliances. Compared to traditional gas cooking, electric cooking has many advantages. For example, it can improve the kitchen environment, avoid the burning of fuel and the emission of harmful gases, and create a healthy and safe cooking space at home. Furthermore, electrical appliances have high heating and heat transfer efficiency, which saves cooking time and costs. Also, with the digital age development, various trendy electrical appliances are becoming increasingly intelligent, with multiple cooking modes matching different ingredient needs and dining scenes. Kitchen novices can obtain chef-level menus with just a click, bringing people a lot of convenience and fun in their lives.
Food is essential to people, and cooking is an indispensable part of daily life for citizens. CEM encourages citizens to choose electric cooking more on their upcoming holiday tables. In the coming year, CEM will continue to hold electric cooking classes, starting from the small place of the kitchen to create more opportunities to interact with the community and promote the concepts of health, environmental protection, and sustainable living to countless households.
