CEM Celebrates the Lunar New Year with Macau Citizens with Fai Chun Writing Activity

In the runup to the Lunar New Year, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) wishes Macau citizens good fortune and full of vitality in the Year of the Dragon. To welcome the Lunar New Year, CEM will hold a Fai Chun writing activity from 15:00 to 17:30 on 2, 5 and 6 February (Friday, Monday and Tuesday) at the lobby of the Customer Service Center in CEM Building (Address: Estrada D. Maria II, Macau). Seven well-known local calligraphy artists including Kuan Kun Cheong, Lei Tek Chi, Sou Kam Leong, Lam Tak Cheong, Lei Man Wai, Kwok Kwok Sin Mei, Iun Iok Meng, will be invited to write ink-brush phrases on-site and distribute their masterpieces to the public for free, in the hope to send sincere New Year blessings.
Through the activity, CEM aims to promote the fine traditional Chinese culture and pass on the Chinese New Year customs, and humanistic arts to the younger generations, allowing citizens to experience the festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year and add traditional cultural elements to their home decorations. Additionally, the event also will raise fund for the Macau Deaf Association. CEM invites citizens to make donations to send blessings to the deaf and hearing-impaired individuals after receiving Fai Chun, which will contribute to the development of the association’s services and building an inclusive society. CEM organizes a variety of community activities every year to actively give back to society as well as push forward social harmony and inclusiveness. The introduction of each calligraphy artist is as follows:
Kuan Kun Cheong is a member of the China Artists Association, the President of the Wa Ha Macau Art and Culture Association, a supervisor of the Macau Chinese Cultural Friendship Association, President of the Macau Elderly Painting and Calligraphy Association, and a leader of several art organizations in Macau and mainland China. He has received numerous awards in large-scale art exhibitions at home and abroad. | Lei Tek Chi is the Chairman of the Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macau, the Vice Chairman of the Macau Artist Society, the Vice President of the Macau Ink Art Association, and the Vice Chairman of the Macau Association of Calligraphy and Sculpture of Seals. | ||
Sou Kam Leong is a member of the China Calligraphers Association, a committee member of the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the President of the Macau Chong Fong Culture and Art Association, the President of the Chi Pun Chinese Calligraphy Learning Association (Macau), the Vice Chairman of the Macau Association of Calligraphy and Sculpture of Seals, and a leader of various art organizations. | Lam Tak Cheong is the President of the Association for Research and Innovation of Chinese Calligraphy and Paintings (Macau), the Vice Chairman of the Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macau, the Vice President of the Wa Ha Macau Art and Culture Association, and the Artistic Amateurs Association of Macao. | ||
