Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) held the Pet Party cum “Pet Reel Competition” Awards Ceremony at the Fisherman’s Wharf on Saturday. The lively and adorable pets became the absolute protagonists of the day.

Life accompanied by pets is always filled with joy. Their innocent behavior and cute appearance often bring laughter. In April, CEM launched a unique competition called “Pet Reel Competition”, inviting citizens to submit pet videos. The contest received nearly 200 wonderful reels from over 100 contestants. The featured animals in the videos included not only cats and dogs, but also rabbits, turtles, lizards, parrots, etc. These videos captured the adorable moments of pets in their daily lives from different perspectives. A panel of judges composed of representatives from CEM and the Everyone Stray Dogs Macau Volunteer Group selected the top 20 entries, which were uploaded to CEM’s Facebook page for public voting. The voting received over 1,300 participants, and TANG TAK I and his beloved cat Puff won the championship and the "My Favorite Reel" award.

During the pet party, volunteers and animal representatives from the benefiting organization Everyone Stray Dogs Macau Volunteer Group, were also invited to the event. The volunteers shared their experiences in rescuing stray animals and the living conditions of stray animals, calling on people from all walks of life to love animals and adopt them instead of buying them. All profits from this event were fully donated to the Everyone Stray Dogs Macau Volunteer Group to support their voluntary work, letting more animals receive care and help. The donation was made on behalf of CEM by Cecilia Nip, Director of Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Communications Office.

On the day of the party, there were mini games, photo spots and refreshments provided to all participants and their pets, creating a pleasant afternoon all together in the sunshine and green grass.

CEM is an integral part of the community as a whole and has always delivered positive energy to the public by organizing diversified activities with different interests. In addition to providing a communication and interaction platform for pet lovers, this series of pet events also hopes to spread the concept of harmonious coexistence between humans and animals and advocate a better life.
