CEM participates in the 14th China (Macau) International Automobile Exposition
Macau, 8 November 2024
To support the Macau SAR Government’s green transportation policy and the smart green city development initiative, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) has been committed to improving the electric vehicle (EV) charging network and promoting the benefits and importance of using EVs to the public. CEM once again participates in the China (Macau) International Automobile Exposition, aiming to further promote the application of EVs and the convenience of EV charging.
With the theme of “Drive for a Green Life”, CEM’s booth showcases two existing slow and quick EV charging piles. Interactive elements are added to the booth, where citizens can use magnets and other props to experience the four steps of EV charging on the exhibition boards. The four EV charging steps include downloading CEM APP, scanning the QR code on the charging pile, connecting a charging plug, and selecting “Start Charging”. CEM hopes to let the public understand that the entire charging process is very simple and easy to operate, so that citizens would prefer an EV when purchasing or replacing their vehicles in the future.
Currently, CEM has installed EV charging stations in 60 public car parks, offering over 2,000 charging infrastructures that support GB/T, IEC and CHAdeMO standards. In addition, a total of 600 electric motorcycle charging stations are available in 49 public car parks, with coverage rates of 97% and 94%, respectively. Among them, 1,333 EV charging stations are already in operation, including 165 quick chargers, 11 medium chargers, and 1,157 slow chargers, laying a solid foundation for the development of EV mobility and transportation. Furthermore, CEM APP is constantly optimized and updated, allowing EV owners to instantly search for available charging stations and make instant payments through the e-wallet’s recharge function. To facilitate EV owners heading north, CEM has partnered with China Southern Power Grid (CSG) to integrate its charging platform “Shun Yi Chong” into the CEM APP, providing a seamless charging experience.
The 14th China (Macau) International Automobile Exposition will be held from 11am to 8pm on 8 – 10 November (Friday to Sunday) at Cotai Expo Hall A, B and C in Venetian Macao. Citizens can visit CEM booth at no. B010 to learn more about EV charging and CEM APP, for those who enquire on site will receive a souvenir.
