To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China, the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macau Special Administrative Region and the 40th Anniversary of Guangdong-Macau Interconnection, “2024 Fourth Round of the Long-Distance Running League: CEM New Year’s Eve Run” organized by Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) and General Association of Athletics of Macau will be held on 31 December at 7:30pm. This event marks the first large-scale opening of the Coloane Power Station to the public by CEM, providing a unique experience for participating runners. By celebrating these three significant historical milestones on New Year's Eve, CEM aims to promote the achievements of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area's power development to the public and support the growth of Macau's sports industry, injecting new momentum into the region's sustainable development.
To elevate the event’s atmosphere, CEM has introduced the “Most Creative Costume Award.” This includes a Grand Prize of MOP3,000 in cash for one winner, as well as ten Excellence Awards, each offering a supermarket gift voucher worth MOP500. Participants can choose their costume style freely and sign up at the "Most Creative Costume Award" registration booth in the venue during the designated time, and then have their photo taken. Subsequently, the event judges will select the winners, who will be awarded during the award ceremony. Additionally, there will be themed photo spots on site, and participants can also receive souvenirs and small gifts, offering endless surprises.
The “CEM New Year's Eve Run” will start at 7:30pm, with both start and finish points at the Coloane Power Station. Participants can collect their number bib, timing chip, and notes by presenting their identification document at the office of the General Association of Athletics of Macau from 26 to 27 December and on 30 December, from 10:15am to 12:45pm, and from 2:45pm to 6:00pm, as well as on December 28 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
