CEM successfully holds drill on fuel oil leakage at Coloane Power Station

Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) recently launched an emergency and evacuation drill to assess the effectiveness of the contingency plan and to enhance the emergency response and coordination ability in case of accidents. The entire drill went smoothly and showed satisfied response speed.

In the simulated accident, an oil leakage was found in Coloane B Power Station fuel oil storage tank, and the operator from Coloane Power Station immediately reported the case to the control room of Coloane B Power Station according to the contingency plan. Power plant staff took necessary contingency measures to handle the accident and transfer the fuel oil to another tank. The fire team formed by staff got ready aside. The whole drill lasted for about 30 minutes and went smoothly.

Every year CEM holds fire alarm and evacuation drills at different locations of its premises, in a bid to test and evaluate the effectiveness of the contingency plan, further enhance the emergency response abilities of all the participating staff, and ensure the safety of the employees and facilities at the CEM Building, Coloane Power Station, etc.
